NEW AGENCIES FOR SURGICO

TWO major new agencies have been acquired by Surgico Medical & Surgical Ltd.

The new agencies are Enthermics and Trumpf, and are additions to the patient care handling and safety portfolio Surgico is renowned for.

Enthermics is a fluid and blanket warming system that can be configured separately or in combination.  The system provides even heating of the interior chamber by the use of the patented Halo Heatâ low-heat density electrothermal cable array in the floor and two sides of the warming cabinet.  A fan also prevents temperature stratification to ensure an accurate chamber temperature (within +/- 1.1º C).  Separately or in combination, blankets, irrigation fluids or injection fluids can be heated.

TRUMPF has been installed in many operating theatres in New Zealand already and now Surgico has the complete range of tables, light emitting diode (LED) operating theatre lights and pendants – all from one supplier.  These products can be installed with any brand of digital theatre solution equipment e.g. Storz, Olympus, Smith & Nephew, Stryker and Conmed.

The new surgical lighting system has adjustable light characteristics, low heat generation and a nearly unlimited life cycle.  The different coloured LEDs not only provide homogeneous spectral light distribution, they also make it possible to adjust the colour temperature individually.  Whether the surgeon is operating in tissue areas which have a weak or heavy supply of blood, the colour temperature can be changed for optimal contrast and differentiation.
